About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa for Benin. Africans may visit without a visa for 90 days; India is not on that path. Apply online before travel at the official portal https://evisa.bj. DEI: hold the e-Visa before you arrive.

Online self-apply fees: EUR 50 (30 days single), EUR 75 (30 days multiple), EUR 100 (90 days multiple). Embassy-channel fees are higher on the same official fee page. Fees are not refundable. Pay with a card that supports 3DS.2.

Documents Required

Online e-Visa

  1. Valid passport details matching the form exactly

  2. Trip data — entry date, stay length (30 or 90 days), single or multiple

  3. Email confirmation link, then complete the remaining form steps and pay

Print or save the approved e-Visa and carry it to the border. Yellow fever vaccination card checks are still mentioned on the official e-Visa site — carry the international certificate.

2. Good to Know

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary-passport holders need an e-Visa before arrival.
  • Not visa-free (African 90-day free path does not cover India).
  • Usual staff path: https://evisa.bj — apply yourself online.

Embassy

Embassy of Benin in New Delhi — resident mission reopened May 2025 (MEA India–Benin brief).

Tourist / visit visas for Indians are issued through the e-Visa portal, not as a walk-in sticker at the mission. Use https://evisa.bj. Confirm the current street address and phone with the mission.

Watch-outs

  • No refund after payment — check names and dates before you submit.
  • Cannot change an e-Visa after it is issued.
  • Do not use third-party look-alike sites. Official portal only: https://evisa.bj.
  • Carry yellow fever certificate for border health checks.

How to track

Use “Check your application” / follow your request on https://evisa.bj with the application number from the payment confirmation email.
