1. Visa Types

Processing time

File no more than 6 months before travel, as a rule no later than 15 calendar days before. Embassy may call them for interview.

Stay period

Up to 90 days in any 180-day period in Schengen, including days in Croatia

Validity

As issued. C visas issued before 1 January 2023 are only for Croatia, not the rest of Schengen.

About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a Schengen C. MFA India overview: ordinary passport — visa required. Diplomatic and official — no visa. Usual staff path: fill https://crovisa.mvep.hr, print and sign, then file at a VFS centre or the Embassy in New Delhi. Do not use the old VFS Croatia/India web address — it does not load. Use the Embassy visa page for centre names, helpline, and email.

Croatia is fully Schengen from 1 January 2023. Stay 90/180. Apply in person. Fingerprints into VIS, kept 5 years. Print the crovisa serial number and PIN. Funds: equivalent of EUR 70 per day (EUR 30 per day if they have a Croatian letter of guarantee).

Documents Required

Embassy New Delhi visa page + MFA supporting documents

  • crovisa form in English or Croatian, signed in field 37 and at the end (parent/guardian for minors)
  • Passport issued within 10 years, 2 empty pages back-to-back, valid 3 months after leaving Schengen, no handwritten change on the data page
  • Photo: not older than 3 months, colour 35 × 45 mm, neutral face, eyes open, mouth closed
  • Insurance min. EUR 30,000, Schengen-wide. Single/double: whole stay. Multiple: first stay plus the form statement. Use a company on the Embassy’s approved India list
  • Tourism: paid package or hotel booking. Also proof of travel and intent to return
  • EUR 70 per day (or EUR 30 per day with a Croatian guarantee) plus the visa fee

How to apply

  1. Fill https://crovisa.mvep.hr. Print. Sign.
  2. Book VFS as named on the Embassy visa page, or Embassy slot Monday–Friday 10:00–12:00. Collection 15:30–16:30 after the Embassy writes.
  3. Pay EUR 90 unless they are under 12. VFS also takes a service fee.

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary-passport holders living in India, or with a valid Indian residence permit.
  • Usual path: crovisa + VFS (New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad) or Embassy New Delhi by appointment.
  • Mumbai and Kolkata honorary consulates are not the visa counter. Do not send a C file there.
