About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a Schengen C. Usual staff path: fill the form on the Embassy application-form page, then file in person at a VFS centre in India on a booked slot. Diplomatic and service passports, and EU-citizen family, may book the Embassy via newdelhi.consulate@mzv.gov.cz.

Do not use visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/cze or the old vfsglobal.com/czechrepublic/india site — they do not load. Book as the Embassy how-to-apply page says. The Embassy VFS-centres list expired 18 October 2021 — do not treat those street addresses as current. New C form from 14 January 2026.

About This Visa

Consulate General Mumbai: Indian citizens need an airport transit visa to transit a Czech international airport. Use this only for an airside connection in Czechia on the way to a non-Schengen country. Stay in the international zone. Overnight airport hotels and leaving the transit area are not this visa.

Exempt if they already hold a valid Schengen C / D or a Member State residence permit, or a valid visa or residence for Canada, Japan, or the USA, as the Visa Code exemptions list. If they enter Schengen, they need Type C.

Documents Required

Czech missions — airport transit

  • Signed C/A form. Passport and photo as for Type C
  • Confirmed onward ticket out of Czechia
  • Visa or other entry paper for the next country if that country requires one
  • Papers showing they will not enter Schengen
  • File in person at VFS in India on a booked slot
