About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a Schengen C. Usual staff path: fill https://eelviisataotlus.vm.ee/ (Schengen C-visa), print and sign, then lodge at VFS Global in India. VFS is the only accredited intake for Indian passports. The Embassy in New Delhi decides. Honorary consuls cannot take or examine visa files. Do not send the file through a travel agent or a third person.

Do not use www.vfsglobal.com/estonia/india or visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/est — they do not load. Book the VAC named on the Embassy India pages. Embassy: no cash. Incomplete files are not taken at VFS.

2. Good to Know

Rules and notes that apply to every visa type

How to apply

  1. https://eelviisataotlus.vm.ee/ — Schengen C, email, print, sign. Wrong data: fill a new form. Keep the application number.
  2. Book VFS as the Embassy India pages say (10+ centres). Appointment only; 15 minutes early. Each person in a family books their own slot. Missed slot: new booking after 24 hours. Henna or injured fingertips: wait until prints will scan.
  3. Pay the visa fee in INR at VFS (cash or online when booking) plus EUR 22 service (under 6 exempt). Embassy lodgement: card in EUR/INR or bank transfer at least 5 working days ahead (no cash).
  4. Biometrics at VFS unless fingerprints are already in VIS from the last 59 months. Under 12: no fingerprints.
  5. File window on the 2023 pages: from 6 months before travel (9 months for seafarers) and not later than 15 days before. Status: VFS — do not email the Embassy for tracking.

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary-passport holders living in India: VFS in India if Estonia is the main Schengen destination (or first entry if days are equal).
  • The Embassy in New Delhi also takes Indian passports and non-Indian passports of people who permanently live and work in India (where-to-submit: over a year for non-Indian passports). Staff holiday files: VFS.
  • Not a resident of India: apply in the home country. New Delhi will not take that file.
  • D-visa / residence: Embassy appointment only — VFS cannot take D-visa files.
