Processing time

Embassy New Delhi: decision must not exceed 15 calendar days; individual cases up to 45 calendar days. File within 6 months of the intended visit.

Stay period

Up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Uninterrupted stay: max 90 days. Interrupted: total 90 in 180 from first entry.

About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a Schengen C. Usual staff path: signed form from https://konzuliszolgalat.kormany.hu/visa-application-forms, then VFS Global for the New Delhi consular district (or Mumbai CG if they live in that district). Do not use visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/hun — it does not load. Book the VAC named on the Embassy short-stay page (Delhi: Shivaji Stadium Metro, mezzanine, Baba Kharak Singh Marg). VFS only takes the file.

Urgent file questions: visahungary.del@mfa.gov.hu. The same page also says no application information over phone or email — keep both: use email for urgent issues, do not expect status chat.

Documents Required

Embassy New Delhi short-stay page + konzinfo

Fully completed, signed form. Passport: issued within 10 years, 2 blank pages, valid 3 months after leaving Schengen (or after the last exit if several trips). Colour photo under 6 months. Biometrics if due. Fee paid
Transport and itinerary. Hotel, holiday home, or campus in each Schengen stop. Host: sponsorship / private accommodation
Original 3 months stamped and signed personal bank statements. ITR acknowledgements last 3 assessment years. If someone else pays: the same financial set from the sponsor too
Employed: 3 months payslips, contract, leave letter. Self-employed: company registration including GST number. Retired: 3 months pension and/or property/business income. Student: enrolment certificates
Tourism: agency booking confirmation; private trip: hotels, detailed itinerary, travel between member states. Visit family/friends: invitation with address and dates plus copy of host passport/ID or residence permit
Travel insurance covering the full trip including return — Embassy: from the GI Council list. Konzinfo: min. EUR 30,000, whole Schengen, repatriation, emergency care, death
Minor: notarised consent as on the Embassy page plus parent ID copies with photo and signature

How to apply

Download the C form on konzuliszolgalat.kormany.hu. File inside 6 months of travel.
Book VFS as the Embassy page lists (Delhi, Chandigarh, Gurugram, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Jalandhar for this district). Do not use the vfsglobal.com/ind/en/hun URL — it does not load.
Fingerprints not repeated if taken in the last 59 months — mark field 28. Appear if the VAC still requires it.
Refusal: collect the reason in person at the Consular Section. Appeal in person (or with power of attorney) within 8 calendar days (3 days if annulment/revocation). MFA Consular Department: 15 days on appeal (5 on annulment). Appeal fee is not refunded. Language: Hungarian or an official EU language, or an official translation.

Who can apply

Indian ordinary-passport holders in the New Delhi district (Embassy list: Delhi, Rajasthan, MP, UP, J&K, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal, North-East states named there, HP, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, A&N, Sikkim, Chandigarh, Ladakh): VFS under New Delhi, then this Embassy.
Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Telangana, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli: Consulate General Mumbai — not this chancery.
Hungary is the main destination (or first entry if days are equal).
