Processing time

Embassy New Delhi: as a rule not more than 15 calendar days from the day an admissible file reaches the Embassy; extra checks up to 45 calendar days.

Stay period

Up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Stay on the sticker is a hard cap even if the validity window is longer.

About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a Schengen C. Usual staff path: signed C form (PDF on the Embassy short-stay page), then a Luxembourg VFS centre in India. The Embassy of Luxembourg in New Delhi decides. Ordinary tourists do not walk into the chancery. Do not use visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/lux or www.vfsglobal.com/luxembourg/india — they do not load.

This is not a Belgium VisaOnWeb path. Honorary consuls cannot take visa files. Luxembourg has no job-seeker visa.

Signed C form. ICAO colour photo 35 × 45 mm. Passport: issued within 10 years, 2 blank pages, 3 months after leaving Schengen
Fingerprints unless VIS from the last 59 months. Under 12 exempt
Transport reservation — paid ticket not required. Intra-Schengen connection to Luxembourg, or say if they drive. Itinerary. Hotel or host invitation with address and host ID copy
Original 3 months stamped and signed personal bank statements. ITR last 2 assessment years. 3 months payslips or pension. Ties: job, studies, pension, property, family
Insurance min. EUR 30,000, whole Schengen, whole stay. MULT: first visit plus the statement on the form. Use the Embassy approved-insurers PDF
Visit: informal host letter; if they cannot show own funds, Luxembourg sponsor formal obligation. Business: Luxembourg company invitation on letterhead plus employer cover letter

How to apply

C form on the Embassy short-stay page. Lodge up to 6 months ahead (9 months seafarers). Apply at least 4 weeks before travel (6 weeks peak March–June). Under 15 calendar days before travel the Embassy may treat the file as inadmissible and send it back to VFS.
Book VFS as the Embassy names (16 cities; Gurgaon, Pondicherry, and Trivandrum marked closed). VFS courier 1–4 days each way. Incomplete checklist holds the file. Do not use visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/lux — it does not load.
Force majeure: email Newdelhi.Consulat@mae.etat.lu. VFS complaints: customercare@vfsglobal.com. File-handling complaints: that Consulate email.

Who can apply

Indian ordinary-passport holders living in India: Luxembourg VFS, then Embassy New Delhi, if Luxembourg is the main destination.
Not resident in India: only if legally here and they can justify filing here instead of home.
Honorary consuls: not visa counters.
Official/diplomatic passports: Embassy visa section with MEA verbal note. Long-stay D: national form / guichet — not this holiday C.
