About This Visa
Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa for Malawi. Visit Malawi country list: India — VISA Required. Official Category One PDF lists India among nationalities that must get a visa or prior authorisation before departure — not visa on arrival.
Usual holiday path: apply on https://www.evisa.gov.mw, pay online (Visa/Master), wait for processing, then download and print the approval letter for the port of entry. Do not travel before the e-Visa is obtained.
Tourist visa on Immigration: valid for 3 months, single use. A visa is an entry endorsement; longer stay / work / business needs a permit on epermit.gov.mw. Entry can still be refused at the border.
