About This Visa
Indian ordinary-passport holders need a Brazilian visitor visa (VIVIS) for tourism and other short visits. Brazil grants visas on reciprocity — India requires visas of Brazilians, so Indians need a visa for Brazil. VIVIS covers tourism; cultural, educational, sports or recreational activities; family visits; media/film coverage; joining a ship or aircraft as crew; and airport transit when the onward flight is on a separate ticket and/or different code. Also used for voluntary work, research/learning, health treatment, and adoption of a Brazilian minor, among other visit cases.
Usual staff path in India: fill the online RER form, book through the e-consular system, pay by identified bank transfer, then lodge in person at the Embassy in New Delhi (or Consulate-General Mumbai if residence is Maharashtra, Goa or Karnataka). Do not email the application — lodging is through e-consular. A visa is not a guarantee of entry.
