Processing time

No Colombian visitor visa when the Lista C condition is met. Migración Colombia still decides entry at the border.

Stay period

Short stay for tourism / visit — typically up to 90 days as Migración grants (PIP), subject to extension rules they apply.

Validity

US or Schengen visa (not US transit) valid for more than 180 days at the date of arrival in Colombia; or residence permit in the US or a Schengen state.

About This Visa

India is on Cancillería Lista C: conditional short-stay visa exemption. Indian nationals with a US or Schengen visa valid for more than 180 days at arrival in Colombia may travel without a Colombian visa. US transit visas do not count. Residence in the US or a Schengen state also qualifies.

Without that document, apply for a Visitor (V) Tourism visa online before travel.

Stay period

Authorised stay 90 days, extendable by another 90 calendar days (continuous or not). Non-extendable once 180 days (continuous or not) are reached within each 365 calendar days counted from the visa issue date.

Up to one (1) year. Multiple entries as issued. Electronic visa; sticker only if the Visa Authority requires it.

About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders without a qualifying US/Schengen document need a Visitor (V) Tourism visa for leisure, tourism or cultural interest only. Application is 100% online on Cancillería SITAC. Choose the Colombian Consulate nearest the place of residence (New Delhi for India). Do not go to the Bogotá Visa Office unless the Visa Authority emails a personal-appearance requirement.

Visa validity up to one year. Stay: 90 days + optional further 90, capped at 180 days in each 365-day period from the visa issue date. Decisions on grant, validity, refusal or cancellation are discretionary and not subject to administrative appeal.

Documents Required

  • Electronic visa form on https://tramitesmre.cancilleria.gov.co/tramites/enlinea/solicitarVisa.xhtml
  • Recent colour digital photo, white background, JPG max 300 KB (about 3 × 4 cm, head-on, no accessories)
  • Copy of passport bio page — passport valid at least 6 months at application, good condition, free pages
  • Written letter identifying the applicant and explaining the trip (details, participants, duration, schedule, locations)
  • If invited: handwritten signed host letter with fingerprint from a Colombian host or principal Permanent Resident (R) visa holder — contacts, relationship, financial responsibility, other foreigners sponsored, commitment to ensure return / report irregular stay
  • Bank statements for the 6 months before filing showing monthly income of at least ten (10) Colombian legal monthly minimum wages (SMLMV) — applicant and/or inviting person
  • Health insurance covering Colombia for accident, illness, maternity, disability, hospitalisation, death or repatriation for the planned stay
  • Reservation of tickets into and out of Colombia (outbound ticket also checked at entry)

Supporting papers (other than passports): issued within 3 months; foreign papers apostilled/legalised and translated if required. PDFs, clear scans; total attachments max 5 MB.

Stay period

Maximum 24 hours in the sterile / direct-transit zone of one international airport. Not an entry to Colombian territory for migration purposes.

About This Visa

Indian passport holders need a Visitor (V) Airport Transit visa for direct airport transit through Colombia to a third country. Stay is limited to the international transit zone for up to 24 hours at one airport. Apply online like other V visas if they will transit and do not qualify for another exemption.

Documents Required

Follow the V Tránsito Aeroportuario requirements on Cancillería, plus the general passport, photo and form rules. Lodging is on the same SITAC portal.

How to apply

  1. Check Lista C exemption (US/Schengen visa or residence with >180 days at arrival).
  2. Otherwise open SITAC, choose Visitor Tourism, select Consulate New Delhi, upload PDFs and photo.
  3. Pay the study fee within 10 calendar days (same payment channel later used for issuance).
  4. Wait up to 30 days. If required, upload extra papers in SITAC within 10 days — not by random email.
  5. If approved, pay issuance within 10 days; receive the e-visa by email. Print/save it. At the border show outbound ticket.
  6. Optional free CheckMig pre-registration on Migración Colombia (up to 72 hours before travel) to speed the interview — not mandatory.

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary passports: V Turismo online unless Lista C US/Schengen condition is met.
  • Airport transit through Colombia: separate V Transit if India is on the transit-visa list (it is).
  • Honorary consulates in Mumbai / Bangalore are not the visa decision channel — use SITAC and New Delhi Consulate contacts.
