About This Visa
Indian ordinary-passport holders need a Visitor Visa. They are not on the visa-waiver / NZeTA nationality path. Apply online with Immigration New Zealand. Do not book non-refundable travel until the visa is approved.
Holiday, family or friends, or study up to 3 months. No work, except limited remote work for an overseas employer as INZ states. Partner and dependent children 19 or younger can be on the same file.
Paper lodgement: from 1 October 2026 this visa must go through Immigration Online. INZ also publishes an India checklist for stays under 6 months — use that list with the online form.
Documents Required

- Proof they will leave: ticket out, or money to buy one, in addition to living funds
- Genuine visit plans. Visiting family or friends: host details; sponsor papers if a sponsor is used
