About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa. The Embassy of Armenia in India recommends the official e-Visa at https://evisa.mfa.am.

A visitor visa covers tourism, visiting people, business, medical treatment, and other short stays. Official MFA fees are in Armenian dram (also listed in USD / EUR / RUB) and are non-refundable. Fees on this record follow the MFA table valid from 1 January 2026.

The passport must be valid for the entire stay in Armenia. For a conventional (embassy) visa, MFA also asks that the travel document stay valid at least one month beyond the requested visa.

Documents Required

e-Visa — use one set, not both

Set A (qualifying visa or residence permit)

  1. Travel (medical) insurance

  2. Valid residence permit or visa from the EU / Schengen, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, UK, Canada, Russia, or Japan; or a valid residence permit from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, or Oman

Set B (no qualifying visa or permit)

  1. Travel (medical) insurance

  2. Air ticket reservation (return). A one-way ticket is enough for study, work, or other justified cases

  3. Invitation from a party in Armenia (local tourist agency, university, employer, or other local company)

  4. Proof of funds (last 3 months’ bank statement, employment certificate with salary, work contract, or other proof)

Embassy of Armenia, New Delhi

  1. Visa application form and one colour photo (3.5 × 4.5 cm)

  2. Passport and photocopy

  3. Printout of the online visa-fee payment (Pay on the fees page, then select India — New Delhi). State the applicant’s full name on each payment

  4. Cover letter (one letter for a family or group, with the member list attached)

Also listed as required on the India embassy visa page

Also useful: copies of visas or residence permits from the last 3 years, hotel reservation, and any other papers they ask for.

How to apply

Temporary visa exemption

  • From 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2027, nationals of 111 countries (including India) who hold a qualifying residence permit can enter Armenia without a visa for up to 180 days in one year.
  • The permit must be issued by the USA, an EU member state, a Schengen state, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, or Oman, and must stay valid at least six months from the date of entry.
  • Show a physical card or a sticker in the passport. Latin-script name, nationality, date of birth, and validity (Gregorian calendar) must be readable.
  • This is not the same as holding only a visit visa from those countries. Reconfirm on the India embassy page before telling a client they can skip the visa.
