About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa. This is not a download-only e-Visa. Fill the form on https://visa.gov.bd, print it, and submit the passport and papers at the Bangladesh mission that covers the traveller’s state.

The official fee table lists India as USD 0 for single, double and multiple. New Delhi says tourist visas are issued as single or double only — multiple is for business. Leisure only — no work.

Confirm the mission is accepting tourist visas before the traveller books (services have been paused and resumed in the past).

2. Good to Know

Rules and notes that apply to every visa type

How to apply

  1. Open https://visa.gov.bd and start a NEW VISA (not a download-only e-Visa).
  2. Select the correct India mission (NEW DELHI, MUMBAI, CHENNAI, KOLKATA, AGARTALA or GUWAHATI).
  3. Submit the form, print it, and take it with the passport and papers to that mission.

Wrong or incomplete information can be rejected. Keep the application ID to check status on the same portal.

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa. Diplomatic / official passports may be exempt — confirm with the mission.
  • India is not on the official visa-on-arrival country list. Do not send ordinary Indian tourists to the airport for VOA unless they are of Bangladeshi origin and can prove it.
  • NVR (No Visa Required) is for foreign citizens of Bangladeshi origin, except SAARC nationals — so not for Indian citizens.

Missions in India

Apply at the mission that covers the traveller’s state. The online form lists: New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Agartala, Guwahati.

Visa on Arrival

Official VOA (up to 30 days) is for listed countries (USA, UK, EU, Gulf, East Asia, and others on the Special Branch page), people travelling from a country with no Bangladesh mission, UN/diplomatic cases, and foreign nationals of Bangladeshi origin (with proof). India is not on that country list. Entry is not guaranteed even for eligible nationalities.
