About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa. The usual route is the official e-Visa at https://www.evisa.gov.ge. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not linked to any private “Georgia visa” agency.

India is in the portal’s second country group. A Schengen or OECD visa is not required to apply (unlike Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka or Afghanistan). The e-Visa has the same entry right as a sticker visa. Print the PDF and travel on the same passport used in the form.

Fee is USD 20 plus 2% service (USD 0.40). Pay by Visa or Mastercard within 5 hours of the payment email. The card need not be in the traveller’s name. Not refunded if refused, unused, or mistyped. Stay and validity are shown after India is selected on Apply.

2. Good to Know

Rules and notes that apply to every visa type

How to apply

  1. Open https://www.evisa.gov.ge and start Apply. Select the country of the travel document (India).
  2. Fill the form in English. Put a middle name after the given name with a space. Confirm the verification email within 1 hour or the file is cancelled.
  3. Pay with Visa / Mastercard within 5 hours of the payment email.
  4. Download / print the PDF from the decision email.

A mistake after submit means a new application. Each companion needs their own file. Name the companions on the form so the files can be examined together.

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary-passport holders need a Georgian visa unless they also hold a qualifying third-country visa or residence permit (see the extra below).
  • Usual staff path: e-Visa on https://www.evisa.gov.ge. No Embassy appointment for that short-stay visa.
  • Airside transit: no visa if they do not leave the international transit area.

Embassy

Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of India

Short-stay e-Visa questions go to contact@evisa.gov.ge, not the Embassy. Embassy sticker files: https://www.geoconsul.gov.ge or email the mission. The e-Visa desk will not update an Embassy application.

How to track

Use the applicant’s own email and the e-Visa account. Status is confidential — only the applicant or a legal representative. Lost PDF: contact@evisa.gov.ge, Monday–Friday 09:00–18:00 (UTC+4). Embassy sticker status: the Embassy or https://www.geoconsul.gov.ge

Photo and uploads

  • Head 50–70% of the image height (top of hair to chin)
  • Religious head covering only if worn daily; full face visible, no shadow on the face
  • Child alone in the frame — no parent’s hands

Visa-free with another country’s visa

India is not on https://www.matsne.gov.ge/en/document/view/2867377. That page is not a visa-free nationality list.

It lists other countries (USA, UK, Schengen / EU, UAE, Australia, Canada, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the rest of the annex). If an Indian traveller holds a valid visa or residence permit of one of those countries, they may enter Georgia without a Georgian visa for 90 days in any 180. That visa or permit must still be valid on the day they cross the border.

An Indian passport alone does not qualify.
