About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders are not visa-free by nationality alone. MFA lists a 14-day exemption in two groups. First-group names we could read do not include India. Second group: they need a valid visa or residence for the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, a Schengen state, or Japan — or GCC residence in an eligible profession. Then: passport valid at least 6 months, return ticket, confirmed hotel, health insurance, and enough funds. Stay 14 days.

Official Gazette (2 Aug 2026): a free 14-day tourist visa for nationalities the authority designates. Holders may replace it with another tourist visa before it expires, paying the fee. The news item does not print the country list. Confirm on the MFA page and the eVisa wizard.

About This Visa

Use this when they cannot use the 14-day exemption. MFA: tourists usually take the unsponsored Tourist Visit Visa on https://evisa.rop.gov.om. Run the eligibility wizard. It shows the subtype and the fee for that nationality.

ROP tourist-visa page: stay up to one month, fee OMR 20, extendable for the same period. List-1 nationalities can get it without a local sponsor (missions, ports, or DGPR). Others need a licensed Omani tour company or hotel as sponsor, with a sponsor letter, valid commercial papers, passport copy valid 6 months, and two 4 × 6 cm photos.

Do not quote third-party 26M / 26N tables. Use the fee the official wizard prints.

Documents Required

  • Register, then apply (unsponsored if the wizard allows)
  • Passport valid at least 6 months
  • Upload what the form asks (photo, hotel, ticket, qualifying visa copy if required)

If they are not on ROP list 1 — local sponsor (licensed tour firm or hotel)

  • Electronic visa form through that sponsor
  • Sponsor letter, stamped
  • Sponsor’s commercial register, chamber certificate, and signature specimen
  • Passport copy valid at least 6 months
  • Two photos, 4 × 6 cm

How to apply

  1. Open https://evisa.rop.gov.om only. Register. Run the eligibility wizard.
  2. If it offers unsponsored tourist: apply, pay the fee it shows, print the visa.
  3. If it asks for a sponsor: the Oman hotel or licensed tour company files it.
  4. 14-day exemption: only if they meet the MFA second-group papers. Still carry passport, hotel, return ticket, insurance, and funds.

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa unless they fit the MFA 14-day second-group rules.
  • Usual staff path: ROP eVisa wizard, then unsponsored tourist if it offers it. If not, a licensed hotel or tour operator in Oman sponsors.
  • GCC citizens (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE) do not need a visa. That is not the Indian tourist path.
