About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa. They are not visa-free. Usual staff path for someone living in India: visit visa at the High Commission of Pakistan, New Delhi. This is not a walk-in tourist e-Visa. Pakistan Online Visa (https://visa.nadra.gov.pk) lists India on “List of Countries B”, not on the 192-country tourist/visit e-Visa list. Do not start a NADRA tourist file for a Delhi-resident Indian.

The High Commission visit form asks duration (under 1 month / 6 months / 1 year / 2 years) and single, double, or multiple entry. Fee on the visit page: INR 120 per entry for Indian citizens. Pay to the High Commission RBL account or by card at the counter (3% extra). They need a sponsor in Pakistan for each city on the itinerary. Incomplete forms are not processed.

NADRA also says that from 1 January 2021 all visa applications go through the online system. The High Commission still publishes this paper visit list. Keep both. Confirm which channel they will actually take that day before you quote a filing path.

Documents Required

High Commission of Pakistan, New Delhi — visit visa

  1. Visit visa application form, complete, passport photo pasted

  2. Visa Information Form: 4 copies for single entry (photo on each; every place to be visited). Two extra copies for each additional entry

  3. Passport valid for the visa asked (long visit) or at least 6 months on the apply date (short visit)

  4. Identity: PAN / voter ID / driving licence, with English translation

  5. Address proof: electricity, gas, or landline bill in the applicant’s name

  6. Notarised/attested invitation from the sponsor in Pakistan (affidavit/stamp paper): relation, invitee passport details, purpose, each city

  7. Attested CNIC and address proof of that sponsor for each city

  8. Work: government NOC; or private-sector letter (designation, service, address); or self-employed — India/state business registration with English translation

  9. Fee slip INR 120 per entry (RBL Vasant Vihar, IFSC RATN0000182, A/C 409000494121, High Commission for Pakistan, New Delhi) or card at the counter

Also if it applies: former Pakistani citizens — renunciation certificate (original to show) or POC; Indian nationals who took Pakistani citizenship after 1951 — Form R-I; long-term spouse — attested nikahnama/marriage certificate and spouse CNIC. Foreigners living in India on a residence permit use the foreigners form, not the Visa Information Forms.

About This Visa

Use this for an organised pilgrimage (jatha), not a private family visit. File at the High Commission with the pilgrim form. Same INR 120 per entry as visit.

NADRA pilgrim e-Visa is a different product: the 192-country tourist list, plus Indian nationals who hold legal permanent residence in a third country. Do not put a Delhi-resident Indian on that NADRA pilgrim e-Visa unless they actually have that third-country residence.

Documents Required

High Commission of Pakistan, New Delhi — pilgrim visa

  1. Pilgrim visa application form, complete, passport photo pasted

  2. Passport valid at least 6 months on the apply date

  3. Identity: PAN / voter ID / driving licence, with English translation

  4. Letter from the jatha leader in India (applicants and purpose)

  5. Invitation from the host/organisers in Pakistan

  6. Fee slip INR 120 per entry (same RBL account or card +3%)

2. Good to Know

Rules and notes that apply to every visa type

How to apply

  1. High Commission (usual): download the visit or pilgrim form from https://pakhcnewdelhi.org.pk/download-forms/. Pay INR 120 per entry. Submit Monday–Friday 09:00–11:00 (not holidays). Collect 17:00.
  2. Online (only if they fit NADRA’s list): https://visa.nadra.gov.pk — create an account, upload, pay by Visa/Mastercard. Portal: from 1 January 2021 all applications are meant to go online. Confirm that still applies to Indian residents before you skip the High Commission counter.

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa. Not visa-free, not visa on arrival.
  • Living in India: High Commission visit visa (family/host) or pilgrim visa (jatha).
  • NADRA tourist/visit e-Visa: 192 countries. India is on List of Countries B with Somalia — not that tourist list.
  • NADRA pilgrim e-Visa: Indian nationals only if they have legal permanent residence in a third country.

e-Visa

  • Official portal only: https://visa.nadra.gov.pk. No other website. The portal warns there is no collaboration with other visa sites.
  • Tourist/visit e-Visa (individual, under 3 months, single entry, 7–10 working days on that page) is for the 192-country list, not for India-resident Indians.
  • FAQ: nationals of the eligible countries apply while residing in those same countries; they may be called for interview at the Pakistan mission there.
  • Fee on the portal is the checkout / fee calculator — not the High Commission INR 120.

Watch-outs

  • A visit visa needs a Pakistani sponsor for each city. Do not sell it as open tourism without a host.
  • Business visa at this High Commission has been suspended since August 2019. Do not quote that type as available.
  • No tourist transit type on the High Commission visa list. Do not invent one.
  • Keep both channels: NADRA “all applications online from 2021” and the High Commission paper lists.
  • INR 120 is per entry. Double/multiple means that amount again for each extra entry.

How to track

High Commission: collection at 17:00 on a working day; visa email visaservicesphcnd@gmail.com.

NADRA (if they were eligible): status inside the account on https://visa.nadra.gov.pk. If the file is sent back for review, the clock starts again; they have 7 days to resubmit or it is cancelled (tourist page rule).
