About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need an entry visa. Diplomatic, official, and service passports do not. The visa is only permission to travel and seek entry. ICA officers decide the visit pass at the checkpoint. A visa does not guarantee entry. Stay is on the e-Pass, not the visa dates. No stamp from 11 March 2022 — e-Pass by email. File the SG Arrival Card with a working email.

Usual staff path in India: an authorised visa agent of the mission that covers their state. High Commission New Delhi, Consulate-General Mumbai, and Consulate-General Chennai do not take walk-in tourist files. ICA: if they have a local contact with Singpass or Corppass, that contact can file on SAVE. Apply within 30 days before arrival. ICA processing S$30, not refunded. Missions in Delhi and Mumbai: INR 2,100 plus INR 1,300 agent service, not refunded. Chennai: S$30 processing plus INR 1,000 agent service, not refunded. Keep all three tables. Do not pay a non-authorised agent extra.

High Commission New Delhi: do not buy the ticket before the visa. If they buy one anyway, they bear the loss if the visa is refused or the dates do not match.

About This Visa

Use this only for air transit to or from a third country, not a Singapore holiday. ICA and the High Commission: Indian nationals may get 96-hour Visa-Free Transit if they meet the rules. ICA still decides entry. No extension.

They may arrive by any transport but must leave by air or sea, with a valid onward air, ferry, or cruise ticket leaving within 96 hours. They also need a valid visa or long-term pass (still valid at least 1 month from the VFTF entry date) issued by, or good for entry to: Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, or the United States. A Schengen visa that is good for Germany or Switzerland counts. A used single-journey visa can still count on the way home if they fly straight from that country through Singapore to India and have not gone home since they used it.

If they have no Singapore visa and do not qualify for VFTF, they cannot enter. Usual tour path is the entry visa, not this transit facility.

Documents Required

ICA Visa-Free Transit Facility — Indian nationals

  • Onward air, ferry, or cruise ticket leaving Singapore within 96 hours (depart by air or sea)
  • Valid visa or long-term pass of Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the UK, or the USA (or a Schengen visa good for Germany or Switzerland), valid at least 1 month from entry under VFTF — or the used single-journey-visa return-leg rules above
  • Meet ICA entry rules at the checkpoint
