Processing time

Chennai Consulate-General: status after 15 days from submission. Other missions: as that office states. Do not call Chennai for status.

Stay period

Single-entry: 90 days. Multiple: 5 years validity, 30 days each stay (official C-3-9 multiple-entry list includes India).

About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa. India is not on the official K-ETA country list. Do not send a tourist file to https://www.k-eta.go.kr. Usual path: C-3 short-term visit at a Korean mission (or the Korea Visa Application Center that serves that mission).

File at the embassy or consulate in India, or KVAC. Consulate-General Los Angeles (official C-3-9 tourist note): single-entry stay 90 days; India is on the multiple-entry list — 5 years validity, 30 days stay each time. Keep both. The visa grant notice is the visa; some missions no longer put a sticker in the passport.

MFA fee table (USD): 90 days or less single USD 40, double USD 70, multiple USD 90. Visa Portal: pay in USD, or in local currency if the mission allows it. Quote the amount the India mission or KVAC checkout shows.

Documents Required

Korea Visa Portal — application at a mission

  • Visa application form (Form 17, or the electronic form on https://www.visa.go.kr)
  • Passport
  • Colour photo, 3.5 × 4.5 cm
  • Fee in USD (or local currency if the mission allows)
  • Any extra papers that visa type needs — follow the mission if its list differs from the Visa Navigator

C-3-9 tourist (Consulate LA note; missions may add papers)

  • Application form
  • Colour photo (not needed if the visa.go.kr colour printout is used)
  • Passport valid more than 6 months, plus a copy

Chennai: no file without the consulate checklist. Fake papers mean they cannot apply again.

Processing time

No visa to apply if they qualify at Jeju.

Stay period

Up to 30 days. Tourist / transit (B-2). Stay the whole time on Jeju.

About This Visa

Consulate-General Mumbai: visa-free entry to Jeju only if they fly or ferry direct to Jeju for tourism or transit, and stay on Jeju the whole time. India → Seoul → Jeju needs a Korean visa. India → (direct) Jeju → India is the path this covers.

Status B-2, up to 30 days. Not the usual Seoul tour. If the trip touches the mainland, use C-3.

How to apply

  1. Do not file K-ETA for an Indian ordinary passport.
  2. Open https://www.visa.go.kr. Fill the form. Print if the mission asks.
  3. File at the Korean Embassy, Consulate-General, or the Korea Visa Application Center for that jurisdiction: https://www.vfsglobal.com/south-korea-india/ (Embassy of Korea, or Consulate-General Chennai).
  4. Chennai walk-in: tokens at 9:00 on the ground floor — 17 individual, 8 agent, first come. No appointments. Collect an approved visa 15:00–16:00.
  5. Jeju-only: fly or ferry straight to Jeju. Do not route via Seoul without a visa.

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary-passport holders need a C-3 visa for a normal Korea trip. They are not K-ETA visa-free.
  • Usual staff path: visa.go.kr form, then the mission or KVAC for that area.
  • Jeju-only direct arrival: visa-free B-2 up to 30 days.
  • Family joining a sponsor in Korea is a different status (often confirmation of visa issuance on the portal). Not this tourist C-3.

How to track

Portal files: Application Status on https://www.visa.go.kr. Immigration contact centre 1345 (in Korea) or +82 1345.

Chennai: status is uploaded after 15 days. The consulate asks applicants not to call for status. Collect 15:00–16:00 if approved.
